Kanata Lakes sits in the northern section of Kanata, north of Highway 417 and along Kanata Avenue, which connects to Glen Cairn before becoming Castlefrank Road. For recreation, the Richcraft Recreation Complex-Kanata and the Kanata Leisure Centre and Wave Pool are both a short drive from the neighbourhood, and the Canadian Tire Centre is close enough for a Senators game to be an easy weeknight outing. THE FORMER GOLF COURSE LANDS
Kanata Lakes was originally laid out around the Kanata Golf and Country Club. The course closed in November 2025, and in January 2026 the Ontario Land Tribunal approved the zoning amendment and draft plan of subdivision for a residential redevelopment of the lands. If you are considering a home that backs onto or overlooks the former course, ask us for the current status of the plans before you make an offer. It is the kind of detail that does not show up in an MLS listing.
