Kanata is a vibrant neighbourhood, often referred to as the tech hub of Ottawa. It’s been growing rapidly each year with an expansion of local amenities, making it even more convenient for residents. As a family-centric suburb, there are many fun things to do in Kanata and around the area. If you’re thinking about settling down here or have just moved in and are eager to explore, here are a few of our favourite things to do in Kanata.

Small Pony Brewery

As COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease and more businesses start to reopen, be sure to make a pit stop at the Small Pony Barrel Works brewery. They offer award-winning sour beers that you can enjoy in their quaint tasting room that’s tucked away in Kanata. It’s the perfect spot to sample some unique brews while overlooking vertical stacks of barrels which add to the charm of this brewery.

Walter Baker Park

During the springtime as the temperature starts to warm up, get out and enjoy the sunshine at Walter Baker Park. It’s a big, sprawling green space with lots of paths to stroll along. Bring your furry friend to run around, or take the kids to the playground and splash pad once the weather is warm enough. It’s ideal for kicking a ball around and spending time lounging in the sun.

Blackbird Falls Putting Course

Switch things up with a good old-fashioned game of mini putt! Blackbird Falls is designed for all ages with a well laid out course and a variety of obstacles that make it fun for the entire family. When you’re looking for some leisurely entertainment, head here!

Reconnect with nature along the Beaver and Chipmunk trails. It’s suitable for both young and old, with easy paths that link up with the Rideau Trail Network. It has a picnic area if you want to pack a lunch for the family and there are toilet facilities here too, making it more convenient.
