Bridlewood is located south west of the greater community of Kanata, west of Ottawa, nestled close to Bells Corners. Bridlewood was originally part of the Township of March, but was transitioned into a beautifully planned community and became a part of the city of Ottawa in 2001.
Bridlewood is a charming planned community with numerous amenities, including the Kanata Recreation Complex, Kanata Centrum Power Shopping Centre, AMC Kanata 24 Theatres, numerous art groups, sports associations, and golf clubs. Nestled adjacent to the NCC Greenbelt, Bridlewood home buyers are able to enjoy plenty of walking and cross country trails, trees, green space, and large community parks.
Residents can participate with Bridlewood’s soccer and baseball teams, which compete on a regular basis in the spring and summer months. Geared for children, the recreational programs are through the Bridlewood Community Association (BCA) that also supports everything from arranging community sport sponsors; communicating development information and community watch programs.
Bridlewood is a very quiet and peaceful community and modern amenities, like shopping and dining, are centrally located along Eagleson and Hazeldean Roads. More shopping, dining, and luxury amenities are only a short drive away in downtown Kanata and downtown Bells Corners. OC Tanspo has a direct Kanata bus service to Bridlewood and route 161 stops on Eagleson Rd.
Bridlewood offers three elementary schools: W.O Mitchell Elementary, Bridlewood Community Elementary, and Roch Carrier Elementary. There are also three Catholic schools: St. James Catholic School, St. Anne Catholic School and Elizabeth Bruyere Catholic School.
