Ottawa Events You and Your Family Should Check Out

Family Fun This Summer in Ottawa

2014 Canada Dance Festival: Co-produced by the National Arts Centre, this exciting festival will feature new dance works from a range of artists, including Danièle Desnoyers / Le Carré des Lombes, Wen Wei Dance, Michael Greyeyes / Signal Theatre, Nova Bhattacharya and Noam Gagnon.

THAT Craft Fair: This is a must-see for Ottawa residents. Here you can check out works from more than 40 local artisans. And as an added bonus, the first 50 shoppers receive handmade swag bags.

  • Where: Parkdale United Church, 429 Parkdale Avenue
  • Admission: Donations accepted

Father’s Day BBQ: Spend some quality time with dad during this lovely and memorable event in which you’ll learn all about the Bell Family Men and the Napean Museum. You can even spend some time playing horseshoes on the lawn or lawn bowling.

  • Where: Fairfields Heritage Property at 3080 Richmond Road
  • Admission: $6 per person, $10 per pair or $16 per family

Art Event: During the 5th annual Collage, Colour and Clay Art Show, you can check out the works of such Manotick artists asMary Hardwick, Nancy Riggs, Jess Weatherhead and Lauren Mercer-Smail.

  • When: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 13 and noon to 5 p.m. on June 14 and 15.
