If you and your family members are fans of the visual arts, then we recommend you head over to the Shenkman Arts Centre to enjoy its latest exhibit by Mary Pal titled “Conversational Treads: Impressions in Fibre. This collection of sculpted cheesecloth portraits will help start a conversation about where we form our initial impressions and perceptions of the world around us. It’s truly fascinating. Or perhaps you might want to consider checking out the On the Water exhibition at the OWAA gallery. This features works from local artists, all of which are up for vote on the People’s Choice Ballot for favorite artwork. More of a history buff? Then head over to the Canadian History Museum to learn about the horse business and its roots in Canada. “Breeding Champions – EP Taylor and Windfields Farm” is an exhibit that explores EP Taylor’s passion for horses and horse racing. This bilingual exhibit is free with museum admission and runs through next January. And if you have a free afternoon, you simply must check out the CENTimental Journey, presented by the Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada.
