Opening of Whole Foods Improves Quality of Life Around The Glebe

Last updated on May 11th, 2021 at 01:11 pm

Ottawa FoodLife just got a little sweeter here in Ottawa, Canada. Literally!

According to a recent article I was reading, a Whole Foods Market is expected to open its doors at Lansdowne Park soon. This upscale US grocery chain location will be only the 10th in Canada. And the other nine are in B.C. and greater Toronto.

Our new grocery store will be located at The Glebe.

We’re thrilled to have more grocery shopping options here in Ottawa. Allow us to tell you more about this exciting development!

The 411 on This New Ottawa Grocery Store

Whole Foods will serve a distinctive niche market here in Ottawa. That’s because this grocery store chain specializes in organic and natural foods as well as body care products.

In fact, the company boasts that its products are free of artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners and hydrogenated fats.

What’s more, this store offers a sort of destination shopping experience. People have been known to drive great distances just to buy products sold at Whole Foods.

More than that, however, this new Whole Foods is expected to boost property values in the surrounding vicinity. At least, that’s what has been known to happen every time a new Whole Foods opens.

In fact, it’s well established that this “Whole Foods effect” helps to increase nearby commercial and residential property values up to 20 per cent.

Thus, even if you don’t plan to do your grocery shopping here, you’re sure to benefit by simply having Whole Foods in the neighborhood.
