Canada’s 150th anniversary. Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson and several other officials in local government want all eyes to be on the capital during the country’s bicentennial. Thus, multiple events and projects are being planned to help celebrate the anniversary. There’s even going to be a logo that will be pasted all over Ottawa’s streets for the 2017 Canada Day celebration! Get ready!

Quebec’s Bill 60, otherwise known as ‘The Charter.’ This issue will surely affect us locally here in Ottawa. Basically, this bill wants to ban wearing religious symbols by public employees. This will certainly be a hot button issue to keep an eye on

The Fallout from 2013’s Bus/Train Crsh. Perhaps one of the biggest stories of 2013 was September’s crash between an OC Transpo bus and Via Rail train. Now in 2014, we can expect to see further fallout from this incide. What will be revealed in the Transportation Safety Board’s report? What follow-up actions willthe city, OC Transpo or Via rail take?
