The Future of Ottawa’s High Rise Condo Scene is Bright!

Last updated on May 11th, 2021 at 01:11 pm

Be prepared, Ottawa: Over the next several years, the face of Ottawa could change drastically!

According to a recent article I was reading, there are several major high-rise condominiums coming on the market in the never several months.

As your dedicated Ottawa real estate experts, we wanted to take a moment to discuss some of these projects with you.

New Ottawa Condos That Are Being Developed Soon

One property you might want to know about is the 45-storey, 128-metre Icon.

This community is expected to bring residents high-end luxury residences with all of the latest and greatest amenities inside.

The excavation is already underway at Carling Avenue and Preston Street. Developed by Claridge Homes, it’s sure to be quite memorable, with 320 total units.

Still, it’s not likely to be the tallest condominium on the Ottawa skyline for long.

City council recently approved Richcraft Homes’ The Sky, which is a trio of towers in the vicinity that will eventually stand 18, 45 and 55 floors tall.

Inside The Sky community, interested buyers can expect some gorgeous luxury amenities as well as impressive attention to detail.

Both of these developments are being applauded because of their architectural ingenuity and their prominence in the city.

Of course, they are also going to take some getting used to by nearby residents, who aren’t as used to such large skyscrapers.

It will be interesting to see how the developers balance their vision with concerns of nearby residents.

What do you think of these two proposed developments? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
