4 Halloween Activities for the Whole Family

Hayrides, pumpkin patches, apple cider, haunted houses – Halloween is always an exciting time of year for both kids and parents. There are so many activities happening throughout the city each year that let families get into the spooky spirit. If you’re in the midst of planning out your calendar for the month, we’ve tallied up some of the best Halloween activities for the whole family to participate in this season. Here’s what’s happening:

A Barnyard Halloween

If you’ve yet to check out the Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum, now’s the perfect time to plan a trip! On October 27th and 28th, you and the kids can join the costume parade, take a fun science tour around the spooky barn, decorate pumpkins, watch candy-making demonstrations and much more.  It’s always a hoot and the kids will love it.

Haunted Walking Tour

For those with older children or teens, the Haunted Walking Tour is ideal for keeping them entertained and on their toes. Tour some of the legendary haunted spots in the city with old ghost stories that are guaranteed to send a few chills down your spine. Book your tickets in advance, grab your flashlight, and stay close so the ghosts don’t snag your firstborn!

Saunders Farm

From the last week in September until Halloween, the classic Saunders Farm will be hosting their annual Haunting season. During the day, the kids can catch a ride on the hay wagon, pick out their pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, and play in the fun zone area where they can run around and burn off all that candy-induced energy. For those with older kids, head there in the evening to get the truly frightful experience at Fright Fest which is geared for children 12 years of age and older.

A Zombie Adventure

Got kids who are obsessed with all things zombie? If so, make sure to add A Zombie Adventure to your calendar! This unique underground experience is for kids 12 and older and takes place in the Diefenbunker. It takes you on a 60 to 75-minute interactive adventure through a labyrinth of the Cold War Museum. Together, you’ll have to make your way through a haunted walk with the undead filled with surprises, challenges, and storytelling. This is great for families with young adults.

These Halloween activities for the whole family are guaranteed to keep everyone entertained and in the spooky spirit. Be sure to mark them down so you don’t miss out!
