Located west of Ottawa, Nepean
(pronounced "ne-PEE-yin") is conveniently
located approximately 10 -15 minutes from the
Ottawa downtown area. Designated as the Nepean
Township in 1792, this Ottawa-Carleton County
community was named after Sir Evan Nepean, British
Under Secretary of State for the Home Department.
Incorporated as a city in 1978, Nepean has recently
experienced rapid growth. Today, much of the newer
commercial development in Nepean includes numerous

include the Bayshore Mall, College Square, Meadowlands
and Merivale.

player as the neighbouring city of Kanata, Nepean
does have a few tech-centric heavyweights that
call the Nepean area home including Nortel Networks,
JDS Uniphase and Gandalf Technologies.

Within the NCC (National Capital
Commission) Greenbelt, you and your family will

riding at the local equestrian park, enjoy a toboggan

the community. We recommend the Pinhey Forest
and Stoney Swamp parks for the ultimate in cross-country
skiing.
